The Kawai KS-3F was a direct competitor to the Yamaha U1, U2 in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Very similar in looks, size, and sound, it is often hard to tell these apart. The Kawai KS-3F standing in at 50 inches and with a slightly bigger soundboard than the Yamaha U2 will put out just that much more in sound. This is a fun piano to play. Its voiced a little darker than most Yamaha pianos with a brighter tone, but very clear and clean.
This piano was purchased new in 1982 as a family instrument. Piano was played but well maintained with annual tunings and adjustments.
