Over the past 50 years, the Young Chang Piano Company has become a well known manufacturer of quality pianos around the world. It has grown from a small family business to a global leader. Over the past 15 years Young Chang has incorporated many new engineering changes in their soundboards, bridges and cabinetry that give greater flexibility and improved action with excellent dynamic response. In May of 2006 Korea’s largest automobile maker Hyundai purchased Young Chang for $74.1 million dollars.
The acquisition by Hyundai will give Young Chang a gateway for its planned expansion into the musical instrument market, company officials said. Established in 1956, Young Chang holds about 50 percent of the Korean piano market, and 30 percent of the global market according to Hyundai.

What is an ISO Certification?
ISO, the International Standards Organization, was established to assure customers that manufacturers and suppliers have the capabilities and systems to provide top quality products and services. A company's compliance with ISO standards ensures optimal quality assurance, which leads to better value, greater customer satisfaction and better business.
The standards for ISO approval include:
An effective quality system of manufacturing and development
Valid measurements and properly calibrated test equipment

What does an ISO 9001 Certification mean for Young Chang?
A 9001 rating is the most comprehensive of the ISO standards, making it the highest and most difficult certification to attain. By comparison, ISO 9000 & 9002 have fewer requirements for approval. An ISO 9001 certification means that Young Chang Co. Ltd., met ISO 9000 standards, plus requirements for the design and manufacturing process of its grands and upright pianos.
Young Chang was the first piano manufacturer in the world to receive an ISO 9001.

What is the JIS seal?
JIS is a cooperative non-profit organization in Japan whose purpose is to promote and disseminate the standardization of industrial practices in Japan and Japan's trade partners around the world.
The JIS seal guarantees our instruments meet the rigorous standards of Japanese manufacture. And because Young Chang pianos are created in South Korea, we're able to offer the utmost quality at the very best value. Young Chang was the first Korean piano company to earn the JIS seal of approval.
